Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This policy explains what information Promptliness ("we," "us") collects when you use promptliness.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a secure one-way hash — we never see or store your actual password). If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. You may optionally upload your own profile photo, stored on our media server.

Activity data

To power streaks and badges, we record the date you were last active and your current streak count. Separately, we use analytics tools to understand how the site is used, as described under "Analytics and session recordings" below.

Analytics and session recordings

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site, so we can fix problems and improve it. They collect information such as the pages you view, how you click and scroll, your device and browser type, approximate location (country or city level, based on your IP address), and the site you came from. Clarity also records anonymized replays of how a page is used, such as mouse movement, clicks and scrolling. Clarity masks sensitive information such as passwords and payment details by default, and we configure it to mask text typed into forms. We use this data only to understand and improve Promptliness, not for advertising.

Newsletter and contact form

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address for that purpose only. If you submit the contact form, we store your name, email, and message to respond to you.

Automatically collected information

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability — we don't use this for advertising or tracking.

Cookies & local storage

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (no functional alternative exists for this). We also store a couple of small values in your browser's local storage — such as how many free prompts you've generated, and the last date your streak was updated — that never leave your device and aren't accessible to us directly. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity also set their own cookies (such as _ga, _clck and _clsk) to recognize returning visitors and group page views into visits. We don't use advertising cookies. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks analytics; the site keeps working either way. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account, including sign-in, streaks, and badges
  • To send transactional emails you've triggered, like a password reset
  • To send our newsletter, only if you've subscribed to it
  • To respond to messages sent through the contact form
  • To keep the service secure and working correctly
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, using analytics and session replays

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, strictly to run the site:

  • Vercel — hosts the website and its infrastructure.
  • Resend — delivers transactional emails, such as password resets.
  • Google — provides Google Analytics, which measures how the site is used (see how Google uses data from sites that use its services). If you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in, Google's own privacy policy also applies to that sign-in.
  • Microsoft — provides Clarity, which shows us how pages are used through heatmaps and anonymized session replays. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, or request that your account and associated data be deleted, by emailing contact@promptliness.com. We'll respond and act on verified requests promptly.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal or security reasons.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — including site-wide encryption (HTTPS) and one-way password hashing — to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, ongoing steps to protect your data.

Children's privacy

Promptliness is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Promptliness after changes means you accept the updated policy.
